Recent years have seen an explosion in the sale of designer baby clothes, and not just in the top end design house garments but also branded fashion houses as well.  Names like Ralph lauren, Tommy Hilfiger along with the traditional branded baby clothes like Baby Gap have been making this market a flourishing one even in these tough economic times.

Once just the domain of celebrity babies these designer baby clothes are now available on any high street and of course from a million places online all of which has helped them get in to the hands of your average income parents.  Some people would argue that designer clothes for babies are not a good thing and their arguments are generally based on two possible scenarios.  The first is that parents who cannot actually afford it will buy into the designer baby set by borrowing money or worse, doing without essential items just to afford the latest and greates baby couture.  The second is that once we have dressed our kid in such expensive clothing the last thing you will want them to do is to crawl around and damage them so their freedom to play and explore become limited by these clothes.

Despite those arguments the sales of designer baby clothes have been growing every year, so for those parents aspiring to dress junior in the worlds finest brands the question is, where can affordable designer kit be bought and will it be genuine?   Lets deal with the originality issue first,  If something sounds to good to be true, it usually is!  You will not find genuine designer baby clothes for a couple of bucks, if you do you can be almost certain they are fake.  Buy only from recognized high street retailers or speciality shops wherever possible or if you prefer online shopping there are some great places to find bargains as well.  Ebay and Amazon both carry a fine selection, however you need to be careful of counterfeit clothing, particularly on eBay, if the seller is posting from China or Hong Kong and the garment is cheap you can be certain it is fake, however there are many legitimate traders on eBay that will supply quality clothing and reduced prices.

A word of warning before you rush out and spend hundreds of hard earned dollars on that Dior romper suit, Your baby is growing quickly, is it really worth the money considering the time they will spend in them?
