Buying used baby clothes is agreat way of stretching your budget and ensuring baby has enough clothes to last. To some people it may not sound ideal but the beauty of buying baby clothes second hand is that most babywear is still in excellent condition to to the speed that babies grow out of clothes.  A lot of the clothes offered have hardly been worn.  Of course its not all roses, there are some people who will sell there kids stuff even though it is way past re using, however these are easy to avoid.

eBay is the top destination for buying used baby clothes, it is great because the seller can place several pictures in their listing so you can see easily the kind of condition the garment is in before you buy.  The description itself will give fukk details of the clothes and it is recommended that you read all of the description as there are often details in it that may not be apparent from the photographs.

Craigslist is a brilliant resource for finding used baby clothes and unlike ebay you can find items in your neighbourhood easily as Craigslist is organised by locality.  More of a classifieds site than an auction platfom you can contact the seller and ask details of the clothes before you purchase.  Different from the small ads in your local newspaper in that there is room for full descriptions and pictures rather than your typical newspaper ad that would read something like 'Baby Suit for sale, excellent condition, Pink, call ####'  hardly enough information to make an informed decision.

I cannot leave the subject of used baby clothes without briely talking about how to get baby clothes for free.  Freecycle is basically a group of people who are either thrift fans, philanthropists or environmentally concious and want to recycle all manner of goods to keep them from the landfill sites.  People simply post to the group what items they have for collection and choose someone from the responders to have the items for free, people can also post wanted notices which works well.  It is my experience that freecyclers give great items away particularly the baby clothing and equipment which is often barely used.
